We invite you to participate in the new International Conference «Biomaterials: from Science to Practice» (BioMATs 2025).

The International Conference «Biomaterials: from Science to Practice» (BioMATs 2025) will be as an international forum dedicated to discussing cutting-edge research and developments in the field of biomaterials, their applications in regenerative medicine, implantology, drug delivery, and diagnostics.
Key topics of the conference will address: the development of new biocompatible materials, including polymers, ceramics, metals, and composites; surface modification methods for enhancing cell adhesion and biointegration; the creation of materials for targeted delivery of pharmaceuticals and therapeutic agents, as well as their localized release; the development of biosensors and diagnostic devices based on new materials; and the standardization and safety assessment of biomaterials.
The conference will bring together scientists, engineers, clinicians, and industry representatives to share knowledge, establish collaborations, and promote innovations in materials science for the advancement of healthcare and the improvement of quality of life.

Conference dates: September 22 − 25, 2025.

Venue: A.A. Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMET RAS), 49 Leninsky Prospekt, Moscow.
Conference working languages: Russian, English.

Registration and acceptance of abstracts will be held until August 1, 2025 only on the website https://biomats.ru.

Sections

1. Metallic materials

The section is devoted to the discussion of the latest achievements in the development and research of metallic materials for medicine, including biodegradable alloys based on Mg, Fe and Zn, shape memory alloys, stainless steel, alloys based on Ti, Zr, Co, etc. The section's topics include methods of processing materials, studying their properties, as well as issues of standardization of products.

2. Ceramic materials

The section is dedicated to the creation, research and application in biomedicine of ceramic bioinert, biocompatible, bioactive materials from oxide, including phosphate, and oxygen-free ceramics. Powder, composite, ceramic, cement, paste forms and the characteristics of their classical and additive manufacturing are welcome.

3. Polymer materials

The section is devoted to both natural and synthetic polymers, including biodegradable ones, depending on their application in specific areas of medicine in the form of bulk biomedical implants or implant coatings. Discussions on the production routes of biopolymers, their processing and functionalization are welcome.

4. Composite materials

The section is devoted to the creation, research and application of composite materials with organic and inorganic matrices filled with various biocompatible compounds. Coverage of issues of biocomposite formation by modern methods, including additive technologies, is welcome.

5. Preclinical and clinical studies of new medical materials

The section is devoted to the issues of studying materials of various origins at the stage of preclinical and clinical trials of the basis and prototype of a medical device. The issues of sample preparation, regulatory documents, tests performed and interpretation of the results obtained are considered.

6. Smart materials

The session will include various biomaterials for drug delivery, biosensing, responsive biomaterilas for tissue engineering

7. International online meeting

The main task of the International online meeting is to create a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience by leading scientists from around the World. The section covers all scientific areas discussed at the conference.
